What grades does Valiant serve?

Valiant allows enrollments for students in grades TK – 12th. 

What are the TK and Kindergarten cut off dates?

Students that turn five years old before or on September 1st qualify for Kindergarten. Students who turn five years old between September 2nd and December 2nd can enroll in Transitional Kindergarten anytime during our enrollment window for the school year. Students that turn five after December 2nd can sign up for Transitional Kindergarten on or after their fifth birthday while our enrollment window is still open.

What is Valiant’s policy on immunization?

We do not require our students to have their full set of immunizations. However, in accordance with Senate Bill 277, record of any immunizations received must be sent in with your application. An immunization waiver is also available.

How much does Valiant provide in instructional funds?

TK – 8th Grade: $2,800 ($1,400 per semester)

9th – 12th Grade: $3,200 ($1,600 per semester)

How are orders processed?

Parent completes a Materials or Service Request Form. The EC confirms and processes the request, then materials get shipped directly to the family.

Does Valiant have a Resource Center/Curriculum Closet?

Educational Coaches will have a list of curriculum that is available free to families. Along with your EC, a curriculum specialist is also available to assist in using funds to select the appropriate curriculum.

Does Valiant have a learning center?

School sponsored classes are offered. Classes are taken with our Valiant Vendors.

Are there any restrictions on curriculum?

We do not purchase or reimburse sectarian curriculum/classes/supplies. While material requests should be basic in nature, Valiant works to honor the families’ wishes and needs based on the individual educational plans.

How can instructional funds be used at Valiant Prep?

Valiant Prep Charter School only allows for public funding to be used on secular curriculum and instruction.

How often do I need to meet with my Educational Coach?

Once every 20 school days. Additional meetings may be held if needed.

What does a typical meeting with the Educational Coach ("EC") entail?

Meetings are tailored to the individual family's needs. Typically, one parent and all students meet at a public location or virtually. The family discusses their progress for the Learning Period with their Educational Coach (“EC"). The EC will collect samples at that time and answer any questions/concerns.

What does Valiant require for work samples?

TK – 8th Grade: One (1) sample per learning period, which can be family choice, plus a Physical Education Log. 

High School (Grades 9th – 12th): One (1) sample for each class per learning period (A learning period is approximately one month long, or 20 school days).

How long does a meeting with the Educational Coach last?

There are no set time requirements. Meetings typically last approximately one hour because we love to connect with our families.

What options does Valiant offer for high school students?

We have several High School Paths that are tailored to meet the goals and needs of your student. We also have several online classes and Vendor classes to choose from.

What are Valiant’s standardized testing requirements?

Testing will be proctored by your Educational Coach to ensure the comfort of your student while testing.

SBAC (language arts and math), Students in grades 3rd – 8th and 11th
CAST (science), Students in grades 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th
PFT (physical fitness test), Students in grades 5th, 7th, 9th

Does Valiant provide Special Education services?

Yes, Valiant offers Special Education services to students with an individualized Education Plan (IEP). Valiant offers online services only.

Does Valiant offer any special programs?

Valiant offers several field trips throughout the school year.  We also offer Parent Information Webinars, Park/Beach Days, Community Events, and Service Projects.
